Letter to Potential Sponsors
The Singularity Summit
Since 2006, the Singularity Institute has hosted annual Singularity Summits to promote rigorous thinking about the potential benefits and risks of accelerating scientific and technological development among researchers, industry leaders, and the general public. The Summit is a two-day conference, followed by a two-day academic workshop; it is also made available by podcast and in permanent internet archives. The Singularity Summit is the premier forum for the discussion of the future of artificial intelligence. Speakers address current research and innovation in enabling fields and discuss the opportunities and risks of advanced technologies. It draws leading figures in technology and academia, such as Intel CTO Justin Rattner, Google Director of Research Peter Norvig, former PayPal CEO and seed Facebook investor Peter Thiel, Kurzweil Technologies CEO Ray Kurzweil, and Mathematica inventor/CEO Stephen Wolfram. The Singularity Summit 2009 featured 27 prominent speakers on topics including biotechnology, futurism, decision theory, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, the scientific method, environmental interventions to increase cognitive ability, philosophy, computer science, and synthetic neurobiology. Over 850 people attended, and the conference attracted reporters from over two dozen news organizations, including the New York Times, Scientific American, Discover, GQ, Forbes, and many other media venues.

The Singularity Institute is pleased to announce the Singularity Summit 2010: Of Mice and Machines. This conference will be held August 14-15 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco. As in past years, the attendees of this year's Summit will include technology industry executives, entrepreneurs and investors, and sophisticated and innovative thinkers. Among those reporting job titles, 28% were company founders, presidents or CEOs, and another 14% held other senior executive roles or university professorships. As a sponsor of the Singularity Summit, your organization can reach out to this technologically-savvy and influential audience of potential customers, employees, and partners. You will join past sponsors such as pharma firm United Therapeutics, genomics provider Knome, hedge fund Clarium Capital Management, the Stanford Symbolic Systems program, and intelligent search startup PowerSet.
If you would like to get involved, we offer a variety of sponsorship packages that will allow your company to promote your brand to academics, entrepreneurs and the general public. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Amy Willey, Chief Operating Officer of the Singularity Institute at amywilley(at)singinst(dot)org.
