Volunteer for the Singularity Summit, and be an part of integral part of one of the most forward-looking, interdisciplinary, and thought-provoking conferences around. You will build contacts that last for years and enhance your life in novel dimensions.
The Singularity Summit takes a tremendous amount of effort to put on. The process involves organization, promotion, communication, media, registration, negotiation, and much more. The core team putting on the Summit consists of four people -- Michael Vassar, Singularity Institute President; Aruna Vassar, our Director of Partnerships and Volunteer Coordinator; Michael Anissimov, Media Director; and Amy Willey, Director of Operations. At the Summit, most volunteers will be led by Aruna Vassar, with audiovisual/media volunteers led by Michael Anissimov.
Volunteering for the Summit is not an easy way to attend the Summit for free. In fact, as a volunteer, you will probably miss most of the talks. Volunteers care more about the success of the Summit for the attendees than about their own experience. There are also a number of before-the-Summit volunteering opportunities that we encourage you to adopt, however.
Summit volunteers should have excellent English communication skills, agreeable personality, and the ability to quickly follow orders and work in an unsupervised manner. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Aruna Vassar at aruna.vassar(at)singinst.org. Following are some of the tasks for which we need help from volunteers.
